Come tour Crested Butte’s latest historic home restoration masterpiece: 313 Sopris Avenue. The Project of the Year for a rehabilitation to a historic home in 2016 was awarded to the sellers of the property for the rehabilitation, addition and historic preservation work of one of Crested Butte’s oldest residential buildings. This iconic property sits atop the hill on Sopris Avenue in central Crested Butte. According to the historic building survey, Crested Butte founders Howard Smith and George Holt erected the building in 1881 as the Pioneer Apartment Hotel. Today, the completely restored home expertly recaptures its heritage with a beautiful mix of reclaimed elements and modern appointments throughout three levels. Home highlights include designer lighting, a mix of reclaimed and new wide plank wood floors, high-end kitchen appliances, a butlers pantry, a wet bar and a heated walkway to the front door.
