The Town of Mt. Crested Butte sits high in the Rocky Mountains with an elevation of nine thousand three hundred seventy-five (9,375) feet above sea level and is located three miles north of the town of Crested Butte. Mt. Crested Butte has a population of eight hundred (800) year round residences and is home to the Crested Butte Mountain Resort ski area. The ski area has over fifteen hundred (1,500) skiable acres with 121 total runs, 15 lifts and a mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs for all ski abilities. The ski area is also now running 2 lifts during the summer for hiking and Mountain biking with 23 trails now available. The base area has a varied mix of restaurants and outdoor shops that are open during the winter and summer.
