The snow finally hit the Colorado Rockies this past weekend. Crested Butte got over a foot of the white gold and our local winter season is now in full gear. The skiing on the mountain is great. Paradise Bowl is open top to bottom, so there is plenty of vertical for early season leg burner runs. The Crested Butte Nordic Center just groomed the Bench trail system in town so its really easy to go XC skiing and the Big Mine Ice Rink is good to go for ice skating.

New Headquarters for Sotheby’s in Crested Butte

All of us at Benson Sotheby’s International Realty are excited to announce a new location for our company’s headquarters. Our new offices are located at 401 Elk Avenue in downtown Crested Butte. The Real Estate Market in Crested Butte

During 2012, we’ve realized about $84 million in residential real estate sales. This equates to 188 homes and condos sold year-to-date in the Upper East River Valley market area. The vacant land segment reached 54 sales so far in 2012 and just over $11 million in volume. And, the local market enjoyed 9 commercial real estate sales this year totaling just over $4 million.

In the town limits of Crested Butte, we’ve seen 34 homes and condos sell this year for a total of just over $18 million. The average sale price in town is $545,000 with sold prices ranging from $95,000 for a mobile home on Teocalli Ave. to $1,900,000 for a Treasury Hill single family home.
