From nordic ski races in our alleys and on our streets to 4th of July parades that will blow your mind, the Crested Butte lifestyle is unique in every way and Crested Butte is an amazing place to call home. I first came to Crested Butte in 1990 after graduating from the University of Washington. I quickly fell in love with the community. I was captivated by this tiny ski town in the Rockies with it’s funky vibe, legendary mountain bike trails and great backcountry and nordic skiing. Years later, I can safely say that Crested Butte has done what many Colorado mountain towns didn’t do. We’ve kept our identity and preserved our lifestyle. We still don’t have a parking meter or a stoplight. Everyone walks or rides townie bikes to get the mail, grab a coffee or to head to the show.
