It was stocked with Rainbows and Cuttbows in May 2014. The current size of trout are from 11″ to 18″. The pond may be used for sport or owners are able to keep what they need for eating. Any method of lures, bait or flies is allowed. The Star Mountain Ranch pond is very good for children, novices or just people that want convenience.
The first phase of a several year project has begun to improve the fishery on Carbon Creek. The HOA has cleared the first 1200′ which is approximately 1/3 of the stretch of Carbon Creek on SMR property. With out any habitat improvements, Carbon Creek is already a productive stream full of Brown and Brook trout. Trout up to 14″ with most being around 8″ have been caught this summer. This stretch of Carbon Creek is fly fishing only and restricted to catch and release fishing.
